Perico Rojas was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 3 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Ciruel Academy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of General Velásquez:s goal. The goalkeeper, Tabb Barral, was totally fooled by General Velásquez's Luciano Wilkenson, who 4 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Sergio-Roberto Livingstone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Puyol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Flavio Chacaltana came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the General Velásquez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Chacaltana couldn't finish the play. Rafael Villanueva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio-Roberto Livingstone having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ciruel Academy's Tio Cabezon got a free kick in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Wilkenson in the 31st minute of play forced Ciruel Academy's goalkeeper Tabb Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Paşa Bolas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute José Puyol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio-Roberto Livingstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sergio-Roberto Livingstone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estebano Vuelta in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Puyol in the 43rd minute of play forced General Velásquez's goalkeeper Sergio-Roberto Livingstone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ciruel Academy getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Almarín Peña hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Carmelo Avalos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tabb Barral. The goal made the score 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luciano Wilkenson made a kick off. José Puyol's late challenge caught a General Velásquez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Puyol helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes Ciruel Academy got a freekick which was hit by José Puyol. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, José Puyol took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Sergio-Roberto Livingstone to make any attempt to save it. After 68 played minutes Ciruel Academy got a freekick which was hit by José Puyol. Ciruel Academy's Tabb Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Avalos in the 78th minute of play. In the 83rd minute of the match, Estebano Vuelta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sergio-Roberto Livingstone saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 84 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goalkeeper Sergio-Roberto Livingstone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Puyol. In the 85th minute Estebano Vuelta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio-Roberto Livingstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Wilkenson in the 88th minute of play forced Ciruel Academy's goalkeeper Tabb Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes Ciruel Academy got a freekick which was hit by Estebano Vuelta. The supporters of General Velásquez booed when Ciruel Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Estebano Vuelta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tabb Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Avalos in the 97th minute of play.
