The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eleuterio Fortun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio-Roberto Livingstone having to interfere. In the 14th minute, one of General Velásquez:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for General Velásquez. General Velásquez:s Sergio-Roberto Livingstone showed great skill when he stopped Eleuterio Fortun:s penalty. Hanamichi Sakuragi hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Máximo Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Heriberto having to interfere. Rafael Ler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Sergio-Roberto Livingstone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Jeraldo Sarfate hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio-Roberto Livingstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Ramond in the 31st minute of the match. General Velásquez's Sergio-Roberto Livingstone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Vermudo in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, General Velásquez's Carmelo Avalos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseo Heriberto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Vermudo made a kick off. Reinaldo Izarra kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 played minutes ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mancio. Eliseo Heriberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelillo Hormeño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when German Ramond got free with Sergio-Roberto Livingstone in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hanamichi Sakuragi kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Edelmiro Bide kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. General Velásquez's Horacio Unzaga was substituted for Delfino Gabler. The supporters of General Velásquez booed when ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Bide didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelillo Hormeño, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Eustacio Delgado scored 2-0 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eliseo Heriberto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eliseo Heriberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Avalos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 95 minutes, Carmelo Avalos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. General Velásquez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmelo Avalos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. General Velásquez's Delfino Mac Rostie was substituted for Hanamichi Sakuragi. General Velásquez's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
