Edgard Ax charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgard Ax the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Momentum FC booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Ax didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Buys in the 4th minute of play forced Momentum FC's goalkeeper Teodoro Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Ibar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ab Veenema tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Pisit Sinanan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael de Kort during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Momentum FC booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael de Kort didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ágætis Byrjun's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pisit Sinanan was slow to take the kick. During this time Momentum FC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Vicente Ibar heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Teodoro Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Willemsen in the 26th minute of play. Pisit Sinanan took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ab Veenema. Ab Veenema dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Taco Westerink hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pisit Sinanan in the 36th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Ab Veenema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes Ágætis Byrjun's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pisit Sinanan who took care of the corner kick. Ab Veenema made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Ibar in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ágætis Byrjun's Boukjan Schalkwijk got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Buys to strike the kick off in the second half. Michael de Kort was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 53 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Michael de Kort. Vicente Ibar kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Momentum FC made a substitution. Alberto Ohaco replaced Ignacio Patxi. A collision led to Momentum FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Vicente Ibar hit a great ball. After 67 played minutes Pisit Sinanan rounded Ágætis Byrjun's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. Ab Veenema didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horacio Igon went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Ab Veenema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pisit Sinanan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teodoro Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Buys in the 88th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Pisit Sinanan came free, but Ab Veenema reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Momentum FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Momentum FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
