Spectators: 7953 (Terracing: 5966, Seating: 1829, VIP seats: 158) FC ciufulici's Sandu Pătrășconiu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Zglobiu in the 19th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Ab Veenema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduard Măcrineanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Buys in the 22nd minute of play. Rareș Antonescu kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Ágætis Byrjun's Benjamin Rijaard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eduard Măcrineanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ágætis Byrjun reached it. Ab Veenema came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by FC ciufulici's Cristian Iorda. But to his dismay, Cristian Iorda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 29 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Brain Diest made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eduard Măcrineanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ágætis Byrjun's Robin Willemsen got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgar Buys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Eduard Măcrineanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Buys to strike the kick off in the second half. When Frank Snijders came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Ágætis Byrjun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Snijders couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erben Zandee during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 66th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erben Zandee to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute of the match Edgar Comarnescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ab Veenema showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ab Veenema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Pătrășconiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC ciufulici's Cristian Iorda got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sandu Pătrășconiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ab Veenema tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FC ciufulici's Eduard Măcrineanu got control of the ball when Robin Willemsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ab Veenema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Pătrășconiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robin Willemsen hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Sandu Pătrășconiu scored 2-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ab Veenema, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ágætis Byrjun's Ab Veenema played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Pătrășconiu in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Remus Onea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC ciufulici's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ágætis Byrjun the free kick. After a rather tough play, FC ciufulici's Remus Onea got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 90 played minutes Frank Snijders scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Eduard Măcrineanu who was too lazy, 2-2. The Ágætis Byrjun players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented FC ciufulici from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
