In the 12th minute Nilmar Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute of the match DENVER™ got a corner. Várzea F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Conrado Paraibano ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led DENVER™'s Conrado Paraibano to fire away a dangerous shot which Reinaldo Queiroz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The DENVER™ fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when DENVER™'s Nilmar Freitas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when DENVER™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Várzea F.C.'s Reinaldo Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wanderson Passos in the 23rd minute of play. Gilson Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilson Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Reinaldo Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino Carneiro in the 28th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Rogério Loureiro hit a great ball. Conrado Paraibano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reinaldo Queiroz. Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Celso Secco hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Conrado Paraibano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reinaldo Queiroz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gino Carneiro hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Mandrak was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Conrado Paraibano hit a great ball. Reinaldo Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reinaldo Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. With an all-out effort, DENVER™'s Reinaldo Queiroz threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wanderson Passos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Nilmar Freitas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 68 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Reinaldo Queiroz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. DENVER™ made a substitution. Márcio Guedes replaced Nilton Netto. Filipe Mendonça hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes Várzea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Loureiro. DENVER™ made a substitution. Waldir Romero replaced Guilherme Abud. Rogério Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Gino Carneiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DENVER™'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Várzea F.C. the free kick. Gino Carneiro hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Delfim Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. DENVER™ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
