In the 26th match minute, Classe A Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Netto to maneuver through the defense. If Mendebal Larrechi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Nacional's Emanuel Bañuelos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doriva Simão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Doriva Simão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mendebal Larrechi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 86 minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Classe A Futebol Clube's Kléber Pernambucano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Katia Villalobos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Nacional's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
