Varennes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Cugat in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugene Levine saved Varennes from getting behind. In the 28th match minute, Varennes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Pereira to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute Rodrigo Cugat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugene Levine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Cugat in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugene Levine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Connie Carpenter during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Varennes's Brenton Carrasco got a free kick in the 88th minute. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Cugat's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugene Levine was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Rodrigo Cugat sped through Varennes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eugene Levine.
