Michal Snaza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilie Ciociu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th match minute, Ares FC -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Turceanu to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Virgil Turceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michal Snaza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Traian Pantea didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anton Hurezan to make the kick off.
