In the 6th minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Silvio Cordairo. Silvio Cordairo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Leopoldo Sanches in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pilar FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 10 minutes, Elias Bittor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pilar FC and the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pilar FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Elias Bittor hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leopoldo Sanches in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvio Cordairo saved Pilar FC from getting behind. Leopoldo Sanches's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Silvio Cordairo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Pilar FC's Silvio Cordairo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Pilar FC from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Vitinho Moreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvio Cordairo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to Pilar FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Herminio Veremundo hit a great ball. Silvio Cordairo stood somewhat misplaced when Leopoldo Sanches came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 21 minute. If Nicolas Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Túlio Negri hit a great ball. Ramiro Bertran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gianluigi Donnarumma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Túlio Negri's late challenge caught a Pilar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Túlio Negri helped the player get up and apologised. Túlio Negri hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Gregory came free, but Gianluigi Donnarumma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Elias Bittor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pilar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Bittor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gianluigi Donnarumma breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Sanches came free, but Silvio Cordairo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvio Cordairo made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Túlio Negri sent off a good shot on target. Leopoldo Sanchess short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Silvio Cordairo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicolas Gregory to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Bittor in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianluigi Donnarumma saved S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting behind. Ivo Mello hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Pilar FC's Silvio Cordairo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Sanches in the 64th minute of play. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Gianluigi Donnarumma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting a goal against them. Silvio Cordairo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Sanches in the 72nd minute of the match. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Gianluigi Donnarumma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Gregory in the 73rd minute of play. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Gianluigi Donnarumma got control of the ball when Nicolas Gregory tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 77 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Negri. With 80 minutes on the clock, Enrique Kiliz commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pilar FC! In the 90th minute, Ramiro Bertran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pilar FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Eriberto Lesardo kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Silvio Cordairo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Nicolas Gregory received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gianluigi Donnarumma came out and tried to block the shot, but Nicolas Gregory slotted it home off the left post making it 5-2 in the 97th minute. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
