Karl-Erik Kihlman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Gregory in the 26th minute of play. Pilar FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Justino Eron in the 27th minute. After taking down the ball on Pilar FC's corner Justino Eron fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karl-Erik Kihlman quite easily take care of the ball. The Pilar FC fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Pilar FC's Luciano Millan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 35 played minutes Brothers of Mercy got a freekick which was hit by Svante Pihlgren. After 36 played minutes, Pilar FC's Carolo Abarca shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karl-Erik Kihlman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pilar FC reached it. Tobias Forssberg hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the game, Pilar FC's Nicolas Gregory nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl-Erik Kihlman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The Brothers of Mercy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pilar FC were winning 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Svante Pihlgren to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Svante Pihlgren came free, but Silvio Cordairo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute, Tobias Forssberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anders Svensson in the 72nd minute of play forced Pilar FC's goalkeeper Silvio Cordairo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
