The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Les 3 Quilles FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Földesi came free, but Ulysse Folliot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbert Kormos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Verite in the 8th minute of play. Szombathely Squirrels's Róbert Kormos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léo Verite in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ludovic Zhang. In the 14th match minute, Les 3 Quilles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clément Le Boucher to maneuver through the defense. Ferenc Jászberényi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ulysse Folliot. Les 3 Quilles FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Les 3 Quilles FC's Ulysse Folliot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihály Földesi in the 23rd minute of play. In the 26th minute Mihály Földesi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysse Folliot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's goal looked a bit too open when Ludovic Zhang came free, but Róbert Kormos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olivér Cselényi charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olivér Cselényi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Szombathely Squirrels getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Olivér Cselényi hit a great ball. After 36 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by János Major. Róbert Kormos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clément Bore went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Szombathely Squirrels's Róbert Kormos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clément Bore in the 41st minute of play. Les 3 Quilles FC's Ludovic Zhang managed to work through Szombathely Squirrels's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ludovic Zhang dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Luc Margueritte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Róbert Kormos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute Ludovic Zhang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Kormos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ludovic Zhang made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihály Földesi in the 51st minute of play forced Les 3 Quilles FC's goalkeeper Ulysse Folliot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luc Margueritte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute of the match Lajos Jakó shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ulysse Folliot showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Szilárd Csikós got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute Ludovic Zhang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Kormos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulysse Folliot was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Mihály Földesi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mihály Földesi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Gusztáv Győrffy hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Róbert Kormos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludovic Zhang in the 71st minute of the match. Ludovic Zhang scored 2-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Róbert Kormos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Róbert Kormos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludovic Zhang in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Ludovic Zhang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Les 3 Quilles FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ludovic Zhang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulysse Folliot made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Mihály Földesi sent off a good shot on target. Szombathely Squirrels's Dénes Boross got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Szombathely Squirrels succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Les 3 Quilles FC had controlled the match.
