Spectators: 8492 (Terracing: 6370, Seating: 1953, VIP seats: 169) Nelsinho Marinho started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th minute, Jose Aritza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Pirani in the 7th minute of play. Jose Aritza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Cavalcante having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Balvanera's Eusebio Lehoi. But to his dismay, Eusebio Lehoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Balvanera from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Abel Neron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelsinho Marinho. Deportivo Balvanera's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Nelsinho Marinho scored to the left of an out of position Abel Neron, making the score, 1-1. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Aritza in the 35th minute of play. Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Balvanera from getting a goal against them. 43 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Pirani dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Abel Neron, 2-1. Palestra do Interior's Delfim Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leandro Cordarin to strike the kick off in the second half. Venancio Chaime's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Venancio Chaime helped the player get up and apologised. Venancio Chaime kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 58th minute of play. Ulysses Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Deportivo Balvanera's Florencio Paz was substituted for Lorenzo Berto. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Ulysses Neto got a free kick in the 61st minute. 62 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leandro Cordarin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Aritza in the 64th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pau Lin-Carlos took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abel Neron. Abel Neron dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Nelsinho Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute Pau Lin-Carlos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Neron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Deportivo Balvanera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Paz to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peder Neira didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Deportivo Balvanera getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Placido Cordarell hit a great ball. Deportivo Balvanera's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
