Bernardino Baumar charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardino Baumar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 10 played minutes Acercate Y Patea de Lejos got a freekick which was hit by Bernardino Baumar. A collision led to Acercate Y Patea de Lejos getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. After 39 played minutes Acercate Y Patea de Lejos got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Rubio. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Jailson de Carvalho took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Victor Matxin to make any attempt to save it. Ermegildo Demesio lost his temper 47 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jailson de Carvalho made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Dudu Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dudu Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerardo Balendin kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Zé Carlos Cordeiro was substituted for Anselmo Batista. In the 63rd minute Paulo Renato Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Matxin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luizinho Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nova Iguaçu MZFC had won after a very even match.
