Eliseu Alagoano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. João Vítor Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting a goal against them. Amílton Marinho hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Dudu Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 22 minutes, Anselmo Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauro de Salles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei Dionísio in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jefferson Maia came free, but Mauro de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Vítor Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Souza in the 29th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, 卡納里尼奧 FC's Célio Albuquerque got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute, Sidnei Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 37th minute of play. Mauro de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Alagoano in the 38th minute of the match. 卡納里尼奧 FC's João Vítor Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Vidal in the 40th minute of play. With 41 minutes on the clock, Abel Vidal commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of 卡納里尼奧 FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nova Iguaçu MZFC:s goal. João Vítor Guimarães had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Jailson de Carvalho's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseu Alagoano to strike the kick off in the second half. Anselmo Batista hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. 卡納里尼奧 FC's João Vítor Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save 卡納里尼奧 FC from getting a goal against them. If Sidnei Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Cesinha Cruz was substituted for Vladimir Braga. Eliseu Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 卡納里尼奧 FC made a substitution. Armandinho Pombal replaced Régis Vides. Dudu Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dudu Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Renato Souza in the 78th minute of play forced 卡納里尼奧 FC's goalkeeper João Vítor Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Renato Souza took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Vítor Guimarães. João Vítor Guimarães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Amílton Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Paulo Renato Souza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Vítor Guimarães. That made the score 1-3 after 82 minutes of play. In the 86th minute, one of Nova Iguaçu MZFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. After 88 minutes of play, 卡納里尼奧 FC's Severino da Cunha made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro de Salles was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dudu Queiroz got a free kick in the 90th minute. Mauro de Salles came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by 卡納里尼奧 FC's Eliseu Alagoano. But to his dismay, Eliseu Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
