Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Vicente Rius successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jeferson Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Vicente Rius made a huge save. In the 25th minute, Jude Bellingham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vicente Rius was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 31 minutes into the game, when Pastor Chap put in a rough tackle. Alfredão da Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Rius. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredão da Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. 34 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Bento came free, but José Maria Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Rius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romário Ronaldo's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. With an all-out effort, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Vicente Rius threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lamine Yambao, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Terremoto FC's zone, Alfredão da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Rius came out of the goal and Alfredão da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Rius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lamine Yambao, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute of the match Clube Atlético Mineiro got a corner. Terremoto FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredão da Costa ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Alfredão da Costa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vicente Rius quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Chabier was the one to do the kick off. Alfredão da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 53 minutes, Romário Ronaldo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atlético Mineiro and the Terremoto FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Terremoto FC booed when Clube Atlético Mineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Clube Atlético Mineiro getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dalmo Ramos hit a great ball. Clube Atlético Mineiro's José Maria Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Filipo in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Teofilo Raitin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Terremoto FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Mineiro the free kick. After a rather tough play, Terremoto FC's Teofilo Raitin got a free kick in the 57th minute. Vicente Rius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lamine Yambao in the 61st minute of play forced Terremoto FC's goalkeeper Vicente Rius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Terremoto FC defense, Romário Ronaldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vicente Rius. The Terremoto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Rius should have stopped the shot. Clube Atlético Mineiro made a substitution. Vitório Mendes replaced Jeferson Tavares. Terremoto FC's Cornelio Hermelando was substituted for Enrique Bento. Rosendo Gonsalvo charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rosendo Gonsalvo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After recieving a nice pass, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Alfredão da Costa tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jude Bellingham in the 78th minute of play forced Terremoto FC's goalkeeper Vicente Rius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teofilo Raitin hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Cornelio Hermelando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Rius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernani Mesquita in the 90th minute of play. After some careless play in the Clube Atlético Mineiro defense, Cornelio Hermelando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Maria Carvalho. The Clube Atlético Mineiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Maria Carvalho should have stopped the shot.
