Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 148) Rangers FC's Danny Gilespie started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 3rd minute, Edgard Ledesma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ceferino Monte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patay Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Ceferino Monte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fergus Fairbairn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prospero Petri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Monte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the game, Ceferino Monte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 18th minute Ceferino Monte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rangers FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tim Charles in the 23rd minute. The corner led Rangers FC's Tim Charles to fire away a dangerous shot which Cayetano Francho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 26 played minutes Patay Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Monte. In the 29th minute Edgard Ledesma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute Patay Juniors were awarded a corner. Prospero Petri went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Rangers FC's goalie and right to Justino Pinto. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Rangers FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Fergus Fairbairn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Prospero Petri's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prospero Petri in the 40th minute of play. After some careless play in the Rangers FC defense, Ceferino Monte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. The Rangers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fergus Fairbairn should have stopped the shot.
Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Fergus Fairbairn successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 54 minutes into the game, Prospero Petri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Connor Alsop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Cedric Ceballos made a precise shot to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 63 minutes into the game, Patay Juniors's Ceferino Monte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fergus Fairbairn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Prospero Petri might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fergus Fairbairn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prospero Petri ran back to his position shaking his head. Cedric Ceballos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgard Ledesma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Fergus Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Monte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Ceferino Monte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 0-6 became the score in the 74th minute when Ceferino Monte elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cedric Ceballos, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Cayetano Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Gilespie in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Leo Chesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patay Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Chesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Prospero Petri's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Fergus Fairbairn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cedric Ceballos succeeded in the game's 88th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-7. Edgard Ledesma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Fergus Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Prospero Petri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
