Spectators: 7459 (Terracing: 5595, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luís Fabiano Mattos started the match with the kick off. André Sena came out of the goal in the 2nd minute to try and stop a shot by INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Herminio Iratze. But to his dismay, Herminio Iratze quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Dagoberto Neila came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the INDEPENDIENTE F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Neila couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Omar Orlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Orlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hermínio Cardozo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Milton Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. André Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s André Sena threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ignacio Warnes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dagoberto Neila in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Sena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean-Pierre Moulin during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Jean-Pierre Moulin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uruguaiana's Jorginho Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abelardo Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Omar Orlan got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Warnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Neila in the 23rd minute of play forced Uruguaiana's goalkeeper André Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 32 minutes into the game, when Jean-Pierre Moulin put in a rough tackle. Marcial Estavan went to the wrong direction when Jorginho Britto was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Herminio Iratze came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and André Sena could save by the left post. 42 minutes into the match, INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fabiano Mattos came free, but Marcial Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Orlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Sena having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguaiana's zone, Herminio Iratze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Sena came out of the goal and Herminio Iratze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Herminio Iratze made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Ignacio Warnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignacio Warnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Iratze in the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of INDEPENDIENTE F.C. booed when Uruguaiana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herminio Iratze in the 56th minute of play. Ignacio Warnes kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. André Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Orlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguaiana's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Omar Orlan was slow to take the kick. During this time INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Herminio Iratze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uruguaiana made a substitution. Gerson Couto replaced Marcelo Sousa. Uruguaiana's Marquinhos Diniz was substituted for Silas Esteves. Omar Orlan struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. André Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INDEPENDIENTE F.C.. André Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Meng Qiang Liang, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Uruguaiana's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Iratze came free, but André Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Marcial Estavan got control of the ball when Jorginho Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Herminio Iratze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Sena having to interfere. Marcial Estavan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerson Couto in the 86th minute of the match. If Herminio Iratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the INDEPENDIENTE F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
