Breno Tasso scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dirch Glerum, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Túlio Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Diogo de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dirch Glerum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Brasil in the 22nd minute of play forced Hønning's goalkeeper Dirch Glerum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percival Munhoz came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Hønning's John-Arne Riise. But to his dismay, John-Arne Riise quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Dirch Glerum made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michel Salles in the 32nd minute. Breno Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. After 35 played minutes, Hønning's Laurids Hvenekilde shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Percival Munhoz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hønning reached it. Dirch Glerum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Brasil in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes Hønning's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Breno Tasso who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Jonas Costa to fire away a dangerous shot which Dirch Glerum despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Per Nørbjerg's late challenge caught a Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Per Nørbjerg helped the player get up and apologised. Per Nørbjerg hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hønning getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Simon Svanström hit a great ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hønning's goalkeeper Dirch Glerum, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. John-Arne Riise recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Diamantino Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hønning the free kick. After 44 played minutes Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Barbosa. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Percival Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John-Arne Riise in the 45th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Breno Tasso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dirch Glerum. That made the score 3-1 in the 47 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John-Arne Riise made a kick off. Dirch Glerum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breno Tasso in the 53rd minute of the match. José Pedro Vides scored 4-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dirch Glerum, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. John-Arne Riise hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute John-Arne Riise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dirch Glerum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Pedro Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hønning's John-Arne Riise got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diamantino Barbosa hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 79 minutes, Breno Tasso made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hønning's Dirch Glerum tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hønning's Dirch Glerum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Vides in the 83rd minute of play. Diamantino Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th minute John-Arne Riise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Vides in the 96th minute of play forced Hønning's goalkeeper Dirch Glerum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG fully deserved thier win.
