Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Slawomir Majak took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Volmar Mouritzen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ma Yong Jun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Karen FC's zone, Benne Reijnders stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ma Yong Jun came out of the goal and Benne Reijnders tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benne Reijnders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ma Yong Jun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John-Arne Riise in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slawomir Majak in the 20th minute of play forced Hønning's goalkeeper Dirch Glerum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arvin Svanberg struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Dirch Glerum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karen FC. Karen FC's Arvin Svanberg got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ma Yong Jun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John-Arne Riise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dirch Glerum made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Arvin Svanberg sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Oskar Sandell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirch Glerum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Hønning defense, Slawomir Majak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dirch Glerum. The Hønning fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dirch Glerum should have stopped the shot. Slawomir Majak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Dirch Glerum made a huge save. In the 36thth minute of the game Slawomir Majak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hønning's Dirch Glerum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was a well-played corner which Arvin Svanberg managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 42nd match minute, Karen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Einar Carlsson to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 43 minutes, John-Arne Riise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hønning's supporters crossed their fingers, but John-Arne Riise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John-Arne Riise to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Arvin Svanberg put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dirch Glerum. John-Arne Riise received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ma Yong Jun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Jeppe Andersen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hønning's Dirch Glerum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Slawomir Majak in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75thth minute of the game Arvin Svanberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hønning's Dirch Glerum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute, Karen FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Volmar Mouritzen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 80 minutes, Volmar Mouritzen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
