To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Claes Fender's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Régis de Queirós was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The throw-in from Roderick Oosterhof in the 26th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Chip Potterton. With a little luck, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Ruben Montez got control of the ball when Leonardo Donato tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Claes Fender had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claes Fender in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 36 minutes into the match, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Ruben Montez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tarcisio Reis. 38 minutes into the match, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luke Clist came free, but Ruben Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claes Fender in the 39th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claes Fender struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Régis de Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hala Madrid Iraki FC. After some careless play in the Palmeiras defense, Claes Fender kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis de Queirós. The Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis de Queirós should have stopped the shot. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claes Fender was the one to do the kick off. Leonardo Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Fender came free, but Régis de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claes Fender might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Régis de Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claes Fender ran back to his position shaking his head. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Fender in the 55th minute of play. Ruben Montez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luke Clist, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The supporters of Hala Madrid Iraki FC booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dênis Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palmeiras's Ghenadie Furdui was substituted for Roderick Oosterhof. In the 62nd minute, Dênis Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lex De Prins made in the 90th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Kléberson Neiva. Ruben Montez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Donato in the 95th minute of play.
