When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Nicu Vornicu sped through Lokomotiv Plovdiv's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Krum Nikolchov. 12 minutes into the match, Anversa Club's goal looked a bit too open when Zdzislaw Obuchowicz came free, but Waut Van Der Meeren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mirolyub Dragoychev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. One of Lokomotiv Plovdiv:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Anversa Club:s goal.
