In the 3rd minute Ovidiu Popescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Teofila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Doğa Gazzal came free, but Ionel Panaitoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damian Teofila came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Strikers's Idar Reistad. But to his dismay, Idar Reistad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when ƒ¢ тαяıк υηıтє∂ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustin Ostermann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Teofila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Idar Reistad in the 12th minute of the match. Damian Teofila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Moldovan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Quentin in the 15th minute of play forced ƒ¢ тαяıк υηıтє∂'s goalkeeper Damian Teofila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Aanuţei couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Faustin Ostermann got free with Ionel Panaitoiu in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goalkeeper Ionel Panaitoiu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faustin Ostermann. Damian Teofila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Quentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Cristinel Eftimiu hit a great ball. Despite this Damian Teofila quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Damian Teofila made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Emanuel Mascovescu sent off a good shot on target. Ivan Galtero's late challenge caught a ƒ¢ тαяıк υηıтє∂'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Galtero helped the player get up and apologised.
