Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Villalon in the 11th minute of play. A hard shot 12 in the game by Kerry Sellers from a close distance when the talented Firmo Cerda managed to make a qualified save. Tapa Red F.C's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerry Sellers in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Firmo Cerda saved Tapa Red F.C from getting behind. With a little luck, Tapa Red F.C's Firmo Cerda got control of the ball when Xu Yun Quan tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kerry Sellers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 played minutes Tapa Red F.C got a freekick which was hit by Caradaro Rossell. 21 minutes into the game, C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Firmo Cerda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The nice shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 24thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Firmo Cerda had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Xu Yun Quan in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Firmo Cerda, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Firmo Cerda didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If John Villalon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Firmo Cerda made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Xu Yun Quan sent off a good shot on target. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Firmo Cerda, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tapa Red F.C's Firmo Cerda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Tapa Red F.C from getting a goal against them. In the 46th match minute, Tapa Red F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Jaen to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th play minute Kerry Sellers came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Firmo Cerda. 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John Villalon made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Tapa Red F.C's Oliveiro Achaque got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Firmo Cerda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 56th minute of the match. Firmo Cerda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Sid Chadwick's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Firmo Cerda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. With a little luck, C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón got control of the ball when Caradaro Rossell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Firmo Cerda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 71st minute of the match. Firmo Cerda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, Tapa Red F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Firmo Cerda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xu Yun Quan struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Firmo Cerda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Firmo Cerda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Forbes, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 85th minute Sid Chadwick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Firmo Cerda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hong Zhen Hui hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. If Eric Snowden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Firmo Cerda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 91st minute of play. Firmo Cerda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kerry Sellers's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Firmo Cerda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The C. A. Independiente fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tapa Red F.C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
