The FC Lugano fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when FC Lugano's Jack Saunders looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Yusuf Ziya Cerit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Rakoski having to interfere. After 96 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Fred Lara.
