In the 17th match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Şükür Hagi to maneuver through the defense. Godo Gøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camron Rhodes, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Dieter Bosshard was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 23 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the game, one of FC Lugano:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Godo Gøl had in the 25thth minute some difficulties stopping Sebastien Clifford's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Godo Gøl, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Godo Gøl managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Leicester Lions's Şükür Hagi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Leicester Lions eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
