Spectators: 7464 (Terracing: 5599, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Filomeno Tormes kicked off to start the match. After 2 played minutes The Reds got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Lange. Sten Andreasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xurxo Lagunas's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. The supporters of The Reds booed when Asturcones d´la Abadía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gyula Szigligeti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fred Isaksson hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Adolfo Vogel made a precise shot to the right of Ermegildo Delgado. Asturcones d´la Abadía's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filomeno Tormes in the 17th minute of play forced The Reds's goalkeeper Sten Andreasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 minutes of play, Asturcones d´la Abadía's Veremundo Lastras made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sten Andreasson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Reds's Sten Andreasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Esteban in the 25th minute of play. When Asturcones d´la Abadía's Xurxo Lagunas in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The Reds's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in The Reds's zone, Filomeno Tormes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sten Andreasson came out of the goal and Filomeno Tormes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the game, The Reds's Fred Isaksson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ermegildo Delgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The supporters of The Reds booed when Asturcones d´la Abadía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veremundo Lastras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sten Andreasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veremundo Lastras in the 39th minute of the match. The supporters of Asturcones d´la Abadía booed when The Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnny Lange didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermegildo Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Vogel, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The attack was good, but when Adolfo Vogel in the 45th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adolfo Vogel was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, The Reds's Sten Andreasson got control of the ball when Veremundo Lastras tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 55 minutes The Reds's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Valverde who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Asturcones d´la Abadía's David Valverde to fire away a dangerous shot which Sten Andreasson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Yerko Entrena hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Xurxo Lagunas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of The Reds booed when Asturcones d´la Abadía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Valverde didn't get a good kick on the ball. When George Best fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Reds's protests and gave George Best a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th minute, George Best hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Johnny Lange managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Reds's supporters rose to their feet, but Johnny Lange was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ermegildo Delgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xurxo Lagunas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sten Andreasson having to make a save. Enetz Carballeira spun around in front of the goal 81 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of The Reds's goal. Urbano Arnalt hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Sten Andreasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xurxo Lagunas in the 94th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Asturcones d´la Abadía players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
