Ermegildo Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Vogel, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Filomeno Tormes took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sten Andreasson. Sten Andreasson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When The Reds's Johnny Lange in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Asturcones d´la Abadía's goalie prevented a goal. 18 minutes into the match, The Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Xurxo Lagunas came free, but Sten Andreasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sten Andreasson came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Asturcones d´la Abadía's Xurxo Lagunas. But to his dismay, Xurxo Lagunas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A hard shot 23 in the game by Filomeno Tormes from a close distance when the talented Sten Andreasson managed to make a qualified save. The Reds's players were relieved. In the 27th minute, Veremundo Lastras made a precise shot to the right of Sten Andreasson. The Reds's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. A collision led to The Reds getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. George Best hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xurxo Lagunas got free with Sten Andreasson in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute of the match Asturcones d´la Abadía got a corner. The Reds's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. David Valverde ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Asturcones d´la Abadía's corner Muzaffer Yürük fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sten Andreasson quite easily take care of the ball. In the 42nd minute, Richard Frykberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Reds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The Reds's Sten Andreasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xurxo Lagunas in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Ermegildo Delgado successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gaudencio Quinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermegildo Delgado having to interfere. Sten Andreasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xurxo Lagunas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xurxo Lagunas struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Sten Andreasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Asturcones d´la Abadía. Filomeno Tormes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sten Andreasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filomeno Tormes's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Benny Kvick was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Reds! Johnny Lange's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ermegildo Delgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filomeno Tormes in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sten Andreasson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Asturcones d´la Abadía were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after The Reds's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. David Valverde took the corner. Ermegildo Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Apelquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Sten Andreasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filomeno Tormes's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. The Reds were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Asturcones d´la Abadía's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. George Best took the corner. 83 minutes into the game, Asturcones d´la Abadía's Xurxo Lagunas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sten Andreasson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Asturcones d´la Abadía's Montrel Olmedo was substituted for Angelo Esteban. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enetz Carballeira in the 97th minute of play forced The Reds's goalkeeper Sten Andreasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
