Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulino Lamberto in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Telesforo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Narciso Bertassi got free with Cecilio Jax in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Echeverri in the 13th minute of play. Cecilio Jax made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Narciso Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavino Egoi in the 20th minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in San Martin de Tucuman's zone, Gavino Egoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cecilio Jax came out of the goal and Gavino Egoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonides Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Lamberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cable a Tierra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bartolo Harkaitz was slow to take the kick. During this time San Martin de Tucuman's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on San Martin de Tucuman's corner Luciano Selmo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leonides Telesforo quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Cable a Tierra booed when San Martin de Tucuman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Harkaitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cable a Tierra's Saverio Mercurio got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 32 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Ederono. In the 37th minute of the game Betão Prestes made a throw-in which Leonardo Sigali played forward. After 40 minutes of play, San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonides Telesforo was left in no man's land by his defense there! San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Bertassi in the 45th minute of play. The Cable a Tierra players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Martin de Tucuman were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Paulino Lamberto made the kick off in the second half. San Martin de Tucuman's Eriberto Osasun managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Sigali in the 51 minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Paulino Lamberto could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Leonides Telesforo however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in San Martin de Tucuman's zone, Saverio Mercurio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cecilio Jax came out of the goal and Saverio Mercurio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 56 minutes into the game, San Martin de Tucuman's Luciano Selmo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonides Telesforo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Leonides Telesforo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulino Lamberto went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Cecilio Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavino Egoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Martin de Tucuman's Luciano Selmo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Sigali, made in the 72nd minute of the game. San Martin de Tucuman's attentive Ubaldo Veto managed to snatch the ball when Betão Prestes made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. 81 minutes into the match, Paulino Lamberto notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Cable a Tierra's Leonides Telesforo. Leonides Telesforo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Marcial Munio replaced Luciano Selmo. In the 86th minute Ubaldo Veto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Telesforo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The San Martin de Tucuman players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
