A collision led to Monky FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Andres Musko hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, Matouš Carda notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Monky FC's Felipe Tajo. Felipe Tajo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Bykowski in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felipe Tajo saved Monky FC from getting behind. Monky FC's Felipe Tajo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Bykowski in the 21st minute of play. Fausto da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Wennersten in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the AFC - Curitiba defense, Håkan Wennersten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fausto da Rocha. The AFC - Curitiba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto da Rocha should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Håkan Wennersten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto da Rocha. AFC - Curitiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Håkan Wennersten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 36th minute Jan Bykowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Tajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Tajo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Bykowski in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Monky FC's Håkan Wennersten got a free kick in the 40th minute. Delmar Obano charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmar Obano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th minute, Jan Bykowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felipe Tajo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

AFC - Curitiba made a substitution. Romário Ortiz replaced Zhang Yin Si. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matouš Carda got free with Felipe Tajo in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the match, Monky FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Bykowski came free, but Felipe Tajo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto da Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patricio Mannuel's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Felipe Tajo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Romário Ortiz sent off a good shot on target. Matouš Carda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Tajo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Bykowski in the 71st minute of play forced Monky FC's goalkeeper Felipe Tajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Håkan Wennersten scored 3-3 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto da Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 76th minute Andres Musko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Andres Musko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monky FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Felipe Tajo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from August Wahlnäs, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 95th minute, Rômulo Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
