Jan Gacki started the match with the kick off. Konstanty Zielinski's late challenge caught a CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Konstanty Zielinski helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lech Max! Gwidon Dubilas had in the 4thth minute some difficulties stopping Juan Pablo Sorin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 5 minutes Lech Max's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Juan Pablo Sorin who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Juan Pablo Sorin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gwidon Dubilas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jacobo Romo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Gacki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lech Max's Gwidon Dubilas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Lech Max from getting a goal against them. Otsoko Balmaceda kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Gacki in the 20th minute of play forced CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Jacobo Romo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Gacki came free, but Jacobo Romo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gwidon Dubilas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albino Oso in the 31st minute of the match. Gwidon Dubilas made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Joaquín Ochoa sent off a good shot on target. Jacobo Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Gacki in the 37th minute of play. Joaquín Ochoa kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE booed when Lech Max was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otsoko Balmaceda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwidon Dubilas came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Albino Oso. But to his dismay, Albino Oso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albino Oso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lech Max's Konstanty Zielinski got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacobo Romo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fortunato Vino in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's zone, Jan Gacki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Romo came out of the goal and Jan Gacki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, Norbert Kolacki dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jacobo Romo, 2-1. Joaquín Ochoa charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquín Ochoa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE made a substitution. Genaro Araoz replaced Edelmiro Nastasio. In the 63rd minute, Joaquín Ochoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Juan Pablo Sorin got a free kick in the 64th minute. Norbert Kolacki struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Jacobo Romo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lech Max. Armando Gaizko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gwidon Dubilas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kiril Ivkov's late challenge caught a Lech Max's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kiril Ivkov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute, Kiril Ivkov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lech Max's Norbert Kolacki got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sinan Şiraz in the 78th minute of play forced CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Jacobo Romo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 82 minutes on the clock, Krzysztof Bycofski commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 83 played minutes Lech Max got a freekick which was hit by Krzysztof Bycofski. Albino Oso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gwidon Dubilas having to interfere. In the 90th minute Jan Gacki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Jacobo Romo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE from getting a goal against them. Lech Max's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
