In the 26thth minute of the game Ciro Brasil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Messina's Yuriy Babushkin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, AKI CORINTHIANS's goal looked a bit too open when Teodosio Ascencio came free, but Paredes Fortes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Brasil in the 29th minute of play forced Deportivo Messina's goalkeeper Yuriy Babushkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Deportivo Messina made a substitution. Jonathan Guillerme replaced Paulino Vellito. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Brasil to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the game Sebastian Mergildo made a throw-in which Teodosio Ascencio played forward. Teodosio Ascencio struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Paredes Fortes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Messina. Yuriy Babushkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albino Ibar in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goalkeeper Yuriy Babushkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciro Brasil. If Teodosio Ascencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paredes Fortes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Ascencio in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Oscar Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Messina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Domingo Jakue in the 69th minute. The corner led Deportivo Messina's Domingo Jakue to fire away a dangerous shot which Paredes Fortes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Paredes Fortes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodosio Ascencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Teodosio Ascencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodosio Ascencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paredes Fortes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodosio Ascencio in the 78th minute of play forced AKI CORINTHIANS's goalkeeper Paredes Fortes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paredes Fortes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Ascencio in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goalkeeper Yuriy Babushkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Custódio. In the 89th minute of the match AKI CORINTHIANS got a corner. Deportivo Messina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfred Schrijns ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AKI CORINTHIANS's Alfred Schrijns to fire away a dangerous shot which Yuriy Babushkin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Yuriy Babushkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Simões in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute, AKI CORINTHIANS's Ciro Brasil dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Despite being the better team, Deportivo Messina failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
