The supporters of Algarrobo booed when Paralia Athens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasile Enciulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Cañas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Olariu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Nadal in the 9th minute of play forced Paralia Athens's goalkeeper Virgil Olariu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Chirilă to maneuver through the defense. Virgil Olariu was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Edmundo Cañas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edmundo Cañas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Paralia Athens's Virgil Olariu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Paralia Athens from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgil Olariu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Paralia Athens's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dani Alves was slow to take the kick. During this time Algarrobo's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Algarrobo's Dani Alves to fire away a dangerous shot which Virgil Olariu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Algarrobo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
