The shot was a little too simple and Wang Cheng could save by the left post. After 9 played minutes Gärsnäs BF got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Leiva. Gärsnäs BF's Wang Cheng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Balaeț in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Maido Niit hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Gärsnäs BF's goal looked a bit too open when Mugurel Balaeț came free, but Wang Cheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Gärsnäs BF booed when Zamalek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Stăniloaie didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Queirós. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mugurel Balaeț to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, George Hägglund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gärsnäs BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Hägglund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wang Cheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mugurel Balaeț in the 52nd minute of the match.
