The referee showed Josué Godoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 15 minutes into the match, Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Vicente Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho. 17 minutes into the match, Academia B.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dino Tavares came free, but Vicente Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Leonel Paranaense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vicente Catarinense. Leonel Paranaense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Natã Quintal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vicente Catarinense, 2-0. Academia B.F.'s Vicente Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natã Quintal in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Venécia-ES's zone, Wiliam Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho de Salles came out of the goal and Wiliam Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Vicente Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Gustavo Botelho. Lauro Quirino hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Academia B.F.'s Vicente Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Academia B.F. from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
