In the 2nd match minute, Villa Mitre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blas Seber to maneuver through the defense. After 6 minutes of play, Eureka's Luís Barroso made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgilio Sotil was left in no man's land by his defense there! Laureano Portugal kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Valentim Castilho notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Villa Mitre's Virgilio Sotil. Virgilio Sotil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Virgilio Sotil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Barcelos in the 17th minute of the match. Gaspar Mateo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Dário Colaço sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Eureka's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Admon came free, but Salvador Sordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Victorino Ixidor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villa Mitre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eureka the free kick. After a rather tough play, Villa Mitre's Victorino Ixidor got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Virgilio Sotil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Colaço in the 33rd minute of the match. Ramiro Jerano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Salvador Sordo made a huge save. In the 42nd minute Gaspar Mateo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Sordo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaspar Mateo made a kick off. Laureano Portugal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Virgilio Sotil made a huge save. Ramiro Jerano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgilio Sotil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Colaço, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Villa Mitre's Paulo Frutos got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Lisandro Luz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Villa Mitre's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Laureano Portugal scored to the left of an out of position Virgilio Sotil, making the score, 0-3. Eureka's Dário Colaço got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Admon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Gaspar Mateo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Salvador Sordo. Eureka's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaspar Mateo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 84 minutes into the game, Laureano Portugal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Virgilio Sotil. Laureano Portugal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. After a rather tough play, Villa Mitre's Benê Gonçalves got a free kick in the 87th minute. With an all-out effort, Eureka's Virgilio Sotil threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dário Colaço, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Mitre's zone, Valentim Castilho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Sotil came out of the goal and Valentim Castilho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eureka's Valentim Castilho got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Blas Seber's late challenge caught a Eureka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blas Seber helped the player get up and apologised. The Eureka supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eureka would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
