The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Pheonix FC's zone, Gustavo Gol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tyge Oehlerich came out of the goal and Gustavo Gol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Gustavo Gol came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Tribos 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Gol couldn't finish the play. Edvin van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Einer Therkelsen in the 12th minute of the match. Tyge Oehlerich made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Cristiano Faria sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th match minute, Tribos 4EVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 17 minutes, Cristiano Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tribos 4EVER's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute Marcel Militaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyge Oehlerich had in the 25thth minute some difficulties stopping Ronaldo Saldanha's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball In the 25th minute, Ronaldo Saldanha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tribos 4EVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tyge Oehlerich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwo Kalak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Tribos 4EVER's Bruninho Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes Tribos 4EVER got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Saldanha. In the 40th minute, Flávio Brasil made a precise shot to the right of Tyge Oehlerich. Pheonix FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Edvin van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 任正振 in the 45th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 任正振 made a kick off. Tyge Oehlerich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Brasil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tyge Oehlerich having to make a save. Flávio Brasil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iwo Kalak hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Flávio Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tribos 4EVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Flávio Brasil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tyge Oehlerich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, Tribos 4EVER's Flávio Brasil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tyge Oehlerich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pheonix FC's Tyge Oehlerich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Brasil in the 87th minute of play. When Flávio Brasil came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Tribos 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Brasil couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tribos 4EVER fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pheonix FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
