With a little luck, Spartan FC Mogilany's Iwo Domarecki got control of the ball when Hélio Donatello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eric Gary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes Spartan FC Mogilany's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ricardo Gareca who took care of the corner kick. Jagiellonia Denver's Ricardo Gareca was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Iwo Domarecki in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 22nd minute of the match Jagiellonia Denver got a corner. Spartan FC Mogilany's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ricardo Gareca ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Martins in the 31st minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Eric Gary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Diogo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Gary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Michal Majdoch got a free kick in the 39th minute. Iwo Domarecki made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Hélio Donatello sent off a good shot on target. In the last second Iwo Domarecki throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cacá Čačak in the 47thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diogo Martins made a kick off. Wojciech Skaradowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Gary read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. If Hélio Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 55 played minutes Spartan FC Mogilany got a freekick which was hit by Kajetan Fronczak. 56 minutes into the match, Spartan FC Mogilany's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Gareca came free, but Iwo Domarecki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diogo Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eric Gary was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 62nd minute, Octavian Nicolescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spartan FC Mogilany fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Eric Gary made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diogo Martins in the 67th minute. Eric Gary made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Martins in the 69th minute of play. Per-Olof Åkesson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 71 played minutes Jagiellonia Denver got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Åkesson. Jagiellonia Denver's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vsevolod Mischenko got free with Eric Gary in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eric Gary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstanty Smolarek in the 94th minute of the match. The Jagiellonia Denver supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Spartan FC Mogilany's performance. The match ended with a win for Spartan FC Mogilany.
