Almiro Benevides came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Atlético Mineiro's Romário Ronaldo. But to his dismay, Romário Ronaldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Abílio Barata kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Almiro Benevides didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 15th minute, which inside left pole to 4-0. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Jude Bellingham took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Almiro Benevides to make any attempt to save it. 30 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Homero Brochado came free, but José Maria Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Maria Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homero Brochado, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 38th minute, George Singson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Stars Academy's Antero Rebocho got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 47th minute Jude Bellingham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Benevides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amado Leite was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Stars Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Ronaldo came free, but Almiro Benevides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almiro Benevides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Ronaldo in the 56th minute of the match. Almiro Benevides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stars Academy's Almiro Benevides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Ronaldo in the 80th minute of play. Alexandre Infante hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Romário Ronaldo shot a long shot in the 85th minute and a light blocked Almiro Benevides hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 8-0. Almiro Benevides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmo Ramos in the 88th minute of the match. Almiro Benevides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jude Bellingham in the 89th minute of play. Jude Bellingham kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The supporters of Stars Academy booed when Clube Atlético Mineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lamine Yambao didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Clube Atlético Mineiro fans cheered their team off the field, for while Stars Academy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
