Clube Atlético Mineiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oscar Mas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th minute of the match, Kidlat Cabanit tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mänsur Rzayev saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Oscar Mas took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Maria Carvalho. José Maria Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. José Maria Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oscar Mas had several of the Clube Atlético Mineiro's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed José Maria Carvalho as he didn't even see the shot coming. 68 minutes into the match, Élie Gaudron notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Clube Atlético Mineiro's José Maria Carvalho. José Maria Carvalho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rdth minute of the game Lamine Yambao who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Şamaxı Bankirlər's Mänsur Rzayev was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Mas in the 85th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper José Maria Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Şamaxı Bankirlər got a corner. Clube Atlético Mineiro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Druțu Cristian ran over to the corner to take the kick. Şamaxı Bankirlər were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
