After 30 played minutes Deportivo Rodriguez got a freekick which was hit by Valentim Leão. Deportivo Rodriguez's Rene Harman got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Rodriguez's zone, Gugu de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeo Roma came out of the goal and Gugu de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Road To Glory's Ariel Venerando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualterio Aguirre in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The supporters of Deportivo Rodriguez booed when Road To Glory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egon Markusson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Road To Glory's Ariel Venerando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualterio Aguirre in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Gugu de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Road To Glory's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
