Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valentim Leão in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Malcolm Wall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pauliström's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ivar Björklund in the 16th minute. The corner led Pauliström's Ivar Björklund to fire away a dangerous shot which Amadeo Roma despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pauliström's goalkeeper Malcolm Wall, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Valentim Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Malcolm Wall was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Valentim Leão sped through Pauliström's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Malcolm Wall. Wiley Boyle's late challenge caught a Pauliström's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiley Boyle helped the player get up and apologised. Malcolm Wall was a little too slow when Diego Latorre got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 97th minute. The score was now 0-9. Deportivo Rodriguez's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
