Mainumby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu de Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Mainumby's zone, Gugu de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Cucao came out of the goal and Gugu de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Mainumby made a substitution. Francisco Dominic replaced Lázaro Chap. Mainumby's Dante Sidro was substituted for Dionisio Acevedo. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gugu de Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th match minute, Mainumby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Gelacio to maneuver through the defense. Road To Glory's Ariel Venerando proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Road To Glory from getting a goal against them. 66 minutes into the match, Road To Glory's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Serafo came free, but Ariel Venerando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guaberto Cucao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gugu de Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Gugu de Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Guaberto Cucao. Mainumby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Gugu de Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guaberto Cucao read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Luis Gelacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaberto Cucao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gugu de Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. In the 88th minute, Ibo Cimillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Dante Sidro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gugu de Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Guaberto Cucao didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Road To Glory. The Road To Glory support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
