Gustavo Eladio started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. BELGRANO's zone, Sven-Edvin Jansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Rito came out of the goal and Sven-Edvin Jansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. GuateFortín made a substitution. Severo Rameriz replaced Stanyo Búnkov. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Heriberto Correa hit a great ball. The supporters of C. A. BELGRANO booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Máximo Perrone didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 23 minutes of play, C. A. BELGRANO's Gustavo Eladio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nery Pumpido was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Angel Alvarenga fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GuateFortín's protests and gave Angel Alvarenga a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Angel Alvarenga. If Gustavo Eladio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Eladio in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Gustavo Eladio made a precise shot to the right of Nery Pumpido. GuateFortín's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 38 minutes into the game, when Sixto Kaiet put in a rough tackle. In the 38th minute, one of C. A. BELGRANO:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for C. A. BELGRANO. When the match had been going on for 40 minutes, GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Martin Rito. Sven-Edvin Jansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Rito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Sven-Edvin Jansson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Martin Rito when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half C. A. BELGRANO were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

50 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Jago threw the ball into play from the sideline. GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a defensive mix-up in GuateFortín's zone, Adolfo Guib stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal and Adolfo Guib tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Trotta hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in GuateFortín's zone, Amancio Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nery Pumpido came out of the goal and Amancio Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. C. A. BELGRANO's Onur Ali Cespan was substituted for Gustavo Eladio. GuateFortín's Pablo Mora was substituted for Máximo Perrone. C. A. BELGRANO's Jaime Alfonso was substituted for Adolfo Guib. Sven-Edvin Jansson might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Rito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sven-Edvin Jansson ran back to his position shaking his head. Martin Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 63rd minute of the match. Onur Ali Cespan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Onur Ali Cespan sent off a good shot on target. Martin Rito came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson. But to his dismay, Sven-Edvin Jansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Sven-Edvin Jansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Rito having to make a save. 81 minutes into the match, C. A. BELGRANO's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Jansson came free, but Martin Rito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 87th minute of play forced C. A. BELGRANO's goalkeeper Martin Rito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Rito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Mora in the 93rd minute of play forced C. A.
