The referee ignored Gonzo Style f.c's protests and gave Achille Luciano a yellow card for diving instead. Achille Luciano kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Claudio Cagnetta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute of the match, Johannes Kvarnström sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Lucas Savenije showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roger Pil got free with Lucas Savenije in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute Achille Luciano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Olsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Antico in the 29th minute of play forced Haymakers FC's goalkeeper Robin Olsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robin Olsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Achille Luciano, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 35 minutes into the game, Gonzo Style f.c's Achille Luciano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin Olsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Gonzo Style f.c's Lucas Savenije played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Pil in the 38th minute of play. Sven-Olof Mogren took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucas Savenije. Lucas Savenije dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 46th minute, Roger Pil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto Lo Iacono was the one to do the kick off. Robin Olsen made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Bruno Antico sent off a good shot on target. In the 53rd minute of the match Gonzo Style f.c got a corner. Haymakers FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ennio Fino ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Alberto Lo Iacono heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 55 minutes into the match, Gonzo Style f.c's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Pil came free, but Lucas Savenije reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Roger Pil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Roger Pil notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Gonzo Style f.c's Lucas Savenije. Lucas Savenije was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 68 minutes into the match, Haymakers FC's goalkeeper Robin Olsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Biagio Baciadonne. In the 70th minute Jim Håkansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Savenije saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Olsen made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Enrico Tassotti sent off a good shot on target. Lucas Savenije showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Ahlbeck, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Lucas Savenije took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Olof Mogren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 minutes, Sven-Olof Blomkvist made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Gonzo Style f.c's Lucas Savenije tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Haymakers FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gonzo Style f.c had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
