When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Franklin de Queiroz put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Fábio Leite. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robin Hultstrand in the 9th minute of play. Bin Shevchenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Syd Cullen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute Blumenau Esporte Clube were awarded a corner. Nildo Dantas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Blumenau Esporte Clube's José Augusto Couto to fire away a dangerous shot which Syd Cullen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Blumenau Esporte Clube! 17 minutes into the match, Franklin de Queiroz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Fábio Leite. Blumenau Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franklin de Queiroz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Luiz Fábio Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ive Volckaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by İlkan Lefter during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Real Death Ducks were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bin Shevchenko made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Wen Feng Shi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fábio Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. With a little luck, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite got control of the ball when Ive Volckaerts tried to sneak it across the goal line. Real Death Ducks's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
