Ermanno Puglielli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Marcelo Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Puglielli in the 14th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Andreas Piovezan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itajaí Football Club and the Wisła Kraków players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itajaí Football Club's Andreas Piovezan got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th match minute, Wisła Kraków was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornelio Combarros to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Andreas Piovezan hit a great ball. Marcelo Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariusz Kornaszewski in the 22nd minute. After 25 minutes Itajaí Football Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Afonso Rochedo who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Wisła Kraków's Afonso Rochedo to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcelo Galvão despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ermanno Puglielli got free with Marcelo Galvão in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Itajaí Football Club defense, Mariusz Kornaszewski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Galvão. The Itajaí Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Galvão should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mieszko Makomaski in the 35th minute of play forced Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Marcelo Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roch Zdeb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Mieszko Makomaski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Marcelo Galvão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mieszko Makomaski got free with Marcelo Galvão in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roch Zdeb stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho de Salles's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. With a little luck, Itajaí Football Club's Marcelo Galvão got control of the ball when Mariusz Kornaszewski tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Ramón Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itajaí Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wisła Kraków the free kick. In the 69th minute, Ramón Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute Ermanno Puglielli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Wisła Kraków had won after a very even match.
