Gilberto Boone dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Ronaldo Giovanelli successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gilberto Boone came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana. But to his dismay, Carlos Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilberto Boone having to make a save. 14 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Gilberto Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Erwin Gay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varennes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilberto Boone having to make a save. 18 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Gilberto Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Galo do Japi's Durvalino Caca-Rato managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ward Houde in the 20 minute of the game. Carlos Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 21 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Gilberto Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Carlos Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Boone was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilberto Boone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Santana in the 27th minute of the match. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Galo do Japi from getting a goal against them. Carlos Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Odonnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the game, Carlos Santana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Gilberto Boone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Galo do Japi's César dos Santos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Daniel Dominguez, made in the 38th minute of the game. Gilberto Boone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Santana in the 39th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 41st minute of the game was made by Ward Houde with Daniel Dominguez as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilberto Boone having to make a save. Gilberto Boone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 45th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maurice Odonnell to strike the kick off in the second half. A nice corner shot did that Cafu Ringaa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gilberto Boone quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Carlos Santana came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Galo do Japi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Santana couldn't finish the play. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cléberson Lara hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Varennes made a substitution. Titus Pineda replaced Bernardo Goudreau. Cléberson Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Carlos Santana struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Gilberto Boone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galo do Japi. 71 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Erwin Gay came free, but Ronaldo Giovanelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cléberson Lara hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seth Luke in the 77th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Carlos Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Boone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Santana in the 84th minute of play forced Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Boone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hong Mosher made in the 87th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Seth Luke however managed to control. With a little luck, Varennes's Gilberto Boone got control of the ball when Carlos Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erwin Gay in the 92nd minute of play forced Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Ronaldo Giovanelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Galo do Japi were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Varennes's much stronger midfield.
