Real Cruzeiro FC were furious when Paulo Tinoco was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 33 played minutes Real Cruzeiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Tinoco. 36 minutes into the match, Júlio Arruda notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of San Martin de Tucumán's Godofredo Maule. Godofredo Maule was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shao Wei Wei was the one to do the kick off. Godofredo Maule made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Zonta in the 54th minute of play. The long shot by Nicasio Jaizki in the 57th minute really tested Rubinho de Amaral's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Rubinho de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pawel Sakowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 played minutes San Martin de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Julian Celino. Godofredo Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Zonta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 80 minutes of play, San Martin de Tucumán's Shao Wei Wei made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After 88 played minutes San Martin de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Shao Wei Wei. After having played for 91 minutes, Tales Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Cruzeiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tales Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of San Martin de Tucumán booed when Real Cruzeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vivaldo Carmona didn't get a good kick on the ball.
