After some careless play in the Jovens Democratas MZC defense, Lukács Madaras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Saldanha. The Jovens Democratas MZC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Saldanha should have stopped the shot. Oséias Fantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico de Sousa in the 30th minute of the match. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lukács Madaras in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, Lukács Madaras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dalmo Saldanha was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Oséias Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval de Queirós in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Chico de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico de Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséias Fantini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oséias Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dobromir Zagrodny, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
