With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ismael Nazario Serre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Sociedad Anónima's zone, Valdemar de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gianluigi Buffon came out of the goal and Valdemar de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the game, Sociedad Anónima's Velasco Rollan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ismael Nazario Serre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Ismael Nazario Serre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Velasco Rollan in the 22nd minute of the match. After 26 minutes, Marcel Pinho made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 28 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Fernandez. Velasco Rollan took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ismael Nazario Serre. An unexpectedly hard shot by Velasco Rollan in the 42nd minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Ismael Nazario Serre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdemar de Moraes to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Papunhas EC's Valdemar de Moraes made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gianluigi Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! 56 minutes into the game, Velasco Rollan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ismael Nazario Serre. Velasco Rollan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-6. Velasco Rollan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Nazario Serre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Gianluigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Papunhas EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-10. Ismael Nazario Serre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Velasco Rollan in the 97th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sociedad Anónima eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
